Wow. What a day of racing. Full Mock Meet Results.

Early last week, I was day dreaming about how the mock meet would go. It was before the chaos of weather cancellations, writing practices and being on deck actively coaching. But here we are, meet day and it went off extremely well!

First, I want to thank our board members (and families) for getting everything setup on Friday so we could just come in and swim this morning. I also want to thank all of our volunteers for showing up and jumping right in.

Overall, we had a great mock-meet. While we didn’t have any officials on deck watching for DQs the coaches did make a few notes for swimmers and we did mark a few DQs official in the results. Not to worry though, we’ll be working on all of those breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke corrections over the next few weeks to be ready for our SEISA Conference Championship meet at the end of the month.

I’ll verify times but it appears as though four team records were broken in the 18 and under categories (and won’t be the last time they fall):

  • Sophie Taylor (25.94 in the 40-yd Backstroke), a record that stood for 20 years, formerly held by Samantha Freese
  • Sophie Taylor (23.74 in the 40-yd Butterfly), another record held by Samantha Freese from 2001
  • Sean Callahan (21.08 in the 40-yd Butterfly), record held by Bryce Timonera from 2007
  • Will Johnson (23.41), record held by Bryce Timonera from 2007

Hopefully this is just the beginning of knocking out our personal bests and team records!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

— Coach G.
