Phew. What a whirlwind.

Over the past four weeks, we’ve been working so hard to get our swimmers ready for this moment, the SESIA Conference Championship. We have worked on improving starts, turns, strokes, and so much more in such a short period of time.

And while summer swim is wrapping up this weekend, I’ve heard a few ask “what’s next?” Well, for some, it’s prep work for the high school programs. Oldenburg and Batesville both have swimming programs for our high school enrolled athletes, reach out to Kat (OA) or Greg (BHS) if you’re interested in joining their teams.

For the younger kids that want to swim year round it’s a bit harder to give advice. While we don’t have a club dedicated to swimming in Batesville, there are a number in surrounding areas. I will not personally endorse any of those clubs, but there are parents who have experience with these clubs who could offer advice. My best advice, contact the club, try out and see if it’s a fit for you.

And before we hear, “I wish Batesville had a team,” Same, but there is not enough available pool space in Batesville to sustain a club team.

Alright, so here are some results I know everyone has been waiting for:

As we head into the Conference meet, just keep your kids relaxed and continuing to have fun and remember these incredibly important words as a parent:

I love to watch you swim.

Allow us to continue coaching and be that support net through best times, worst times, wins and losses. We couldn’t do this without your support so thank you for getting us this far!
